Good evening,
Gosh where are the days and weeks going to, I had meant to blog about this last weekend but don't seem to have had a minute to spare.
I was lucky enough to attend the open day at LOTV last Saturday and met up with Fleur and Lou who were demonstrating, but my main reason for going was I had booked myself on Bev's Distress Ink course. I have been looking at all the beautiful distress ink coloured images out there and wanted to know how to do it properly, to be honest I have never even tried, except when I bought the full set of Distress Ink pens when they first came out, I only had them for a day and they went straight back, in fact Bev said she bought a set too and hers went into the bin!!!
I had a great afternoon, met some lovely ladies and had a go at using distressed inks, I am so busy at the moment it is going to be over the Christmas holidays before I get another chance to play again. Anyway I thought I would show you my first two attempts done with Bev, I guess I can only improve, but at least I have the hang of it and know what I should be doing now.
I will not be using any of these on cards... LOL, but I had fun and cannot wait until I have some time to have ago again.
I am a bit of an eBay queen and when I got home I thought I would have a look and maybe treat myself to some re-inkers as I don't have any, and I was lucky enough to notice an auction for 32 re-inkers which were only partially used and I am glad to say I won the auction and they arrived today. woohoo, so I am set up, just need some time now.
Ahh well nearly weekend, our work's do on Saturday and then we are getting the Christmas decorations down from the loft, I like to get them done early as I love decorating the house and it always takes me at least two days.
Have fun

Marvelous Magnolia - Pixie Tilda with Snowy Roof
Happy Thursday Lunch Time
Today sees a new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia and this week our theme is Non-Traditional Christmas colours - a favourite of mine, although this year I seem to have been making all red cards, so made a nice change. I chose two of the new stamps from the Christmas collection, Snowy Roof and Pixie Tilda, seems to have been a popular combination this year.
I made an open criss cross card - Tilda and roof is coloured in copics with two memory box dies, a spellbinder poinsettia, and Tim Holtz snowflake die all covered in Glamour Dust.
This is the front of the card, a die cut Snow word which I covered with Glamour Dust.
Opens out to reveal tilda in all her glory, together with two large Marianee Christmas trees decorated with Twinklets Diamond Dust - boy does that stuff sparkle.
There is a hidden sentiment tag with a Tim Holtz snowflake die at the top.
Hope you enjoy my card and don't forget to drop over to our blog to see the other amazing creations. This week we are sponsored by the amazing

Eclectic Ellapu - Altered Sleigh Pin Cushion
Hiya Everyone
Today sees a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this week's challenge theme is Layering/Open-able/Interactive - mmmm.... I have been wanting to make a sleigh pin cushion for ages and with a bit of imagination my sleigh fits the bill... there are layers, it is interactive but not sure about the opening bit, but Elaine being the nice person she is said it would be ok.
So onto to sleigh which I throughly enjoyed making.
It is a bit of a work in progress and some of the pictures might not show all of the finished items. I started with a paper mache sleigh which I bought last year - I painted with while acylic paint, then I started to decorated it.
As you can see I used marabou feather trim around the edges of the top, WOC and Kort and Godt flowers, rose trim and sparkly bead trim - there is a stick pin peeking out of the flowers with a dangle.
At the front is a lovely silk ribbon, snowflake charm and a little jingle bell
I then made a pin cushion with some white satin fabic and had the most fun making some stick pins.
and then another view of the pins.
I hope you like my sleigh - it will have pride of place in my craft room.
Please drop over to Eclectic Ellapu and see what my team mate have come up - the standard is just getting higher and higher each week - I am really gobsmacked at how amazing the two DT are.
I would like to enter my project in the following challenges

Fashionista - Blue Christmas - Saturated Canary Nutcracker
Happy Monday Blogging Friends,
First I would like to say hello to my new followers, I seem to have gain a few just recently, don't be afraid to say hello I love to chat. Also thank you to my regular followers, I always love to see your comments come into my email box.
Today sees a new challenge over at Fashionista and this month our theme is Blue Christmas and we are sponsored by the totally amazing, fabulous Kristen of Saturated Canary fame. She very kindly gave the DT images to work with and I chose Nutcracker - what a beauty.
I decided to make a card for my niece - I used a couple of Marianne dies namely large Christmas tree
and Poinsettia, kraft card and the paper is a digi from Barely Mine, together a beautiful bow from The Ribbon Girl.
Close up of the Poinsettia with a lovely diamonte brad with blue diamonte centre also from Ribbon Girl - it is beautiful but hard to photograph. I cut the poinsettia out of white card, sprayed with adhesive and scattered Diamond Dust over it.
Nice card???? but the surprise comes when you untie the ribbon and open the card.
I made a box to hold 4 little Lindt teddy bears - sorry there is only 3 but I ate one... it has been replaced since the photograph - , I used an oval spellbinder die to cut the oval and covered with acetate - I decorated the oval with Pearl deco pen and the pearls were perfect :), but then I closed the card.... duh... so not quite as perfect as they were at the beginning.
Picture of the gift tag - which again is Marianne.
Hope you enjoy my chocolate card, I have made a few of these now.
Please drop over to Fashionista blog and see the amazing creations of my team mates you will not be disappointed.

Marvelous Magnolia - Pearls & Lace - Crunching Tilda
Hello Everyone
Today sees the second challenge from our new blog Marvelous Magnolia, we were blown away with the quality and number of entries - we had over 200 entries for our first challenge - how amazing is that.
For my project I have chosen Crunching Tilda and made a voltive holder for my sister and her husband. There seems to be a lot of these candle holders around at the moment, but they are all fairly small and I wanted to make a special larger version, so modified the measurements. It was super quick to make up as I just make my normal card box and glued it together.
The papers I think are Pion - I bought a lot of Pion and Inkido papers recently and I have cut them up so cannot see which are which - bad girl.
The voltive is really cute with a lovely heart button, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Kort and Godt
The image is so cute, I coloured her with Copics and applied glamour dust to her hat, the doily behind her is a Marianne die which I distressed with Tea Dye. She was lovely to colour in and the gingerbread looks good enough to eat.
Close up of the lace and pearls which were from my stash.
Please drop over to Marvelous Magnolia and see the creations of my other team mates - they are AMAZING...

Eclectic Ellapu - It's a Vintage Thing
Happy Sunday Lunch Time
Looking forward to today as I am seeing my step-daughter, husband and two children today, we don't get to see them that often and I love seeing the children.
Today is a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this week our theme is Vintage. A little out of my comfort zone with this theme, but I had seen some lovely Inkido paper Forever Santa - so I thought I would give it a go. I also bought a sheet of Santa's Christmas which is gorgeous mini tag pictures of who else but Santa.
I hated cutting into the paper, I bought two pages and used half of both... sob, sob. I hand cut a tag and distressed the edges, a Spellbinders pointsettia and Marianne snowflake with some of the paper. There is also a Cheery Lynn florish, WOC roses and one of my own hand made pins.
I distressed the edges of the poinsettia with a nail file (thanks Fleur for the advice), and used a WOC pearl brad in the center.
A close of up of my pin, the base of which was WOC pin plus some of my own beads and spacers.
This is the inside which I haven't quite decided what to do with yet.
This was not an easy card to photograph as the colours are quite delicate.
Please drop over to our blog and see the other DT members amazing entries, this is such a friendly DT team, everyone is so excited behind the scenes and Elaine is an amazing leader.
Hugs

So more about my card, I wanted to make a card and matching candle - I had never done this before but seen a few tutorials - it is so easy I don't know why I had not tried it before.
My image is Christmas Tilda with Cat and she is so cute, the papers are Pion, I did not like cutting them up I can tell you, I distressed the edges and hand cut and distressed the edge of the tag. Bauble die is Memory Box, and Heart is Marianne, flowers are WOC and I made one of my pins.
Here is a close up of the candle
I hope you like my card and candle and if you get chance please drop over to the Marvelous Magnolia blog and see the entries from the other designers, you will not believe who we have in our team and we also have the most amazing Guest Design member this week who I am sure you will all recognise.
