Poinsettia Exploding Box

Hello, two posts in two days things are looking up in Blogland for me.  Such a cold and windy day today and my day off work too.  I looked after my little 8 month old Grandaughter, Zara for part of the day, she is so beautiful and such a good baby, a pleasure to look after.

Today I have an exploding box which I gave to my mother-in-law instead of a Christmas card.

The red glitter poinsettia was made using a Marianne Creatable die (the same one I used for the gold poinsettia) but I cut 3x large and 1x small, I used Glossy Accents to stick the glitter then cut all petals apart and glued them to a small circle to build up the flower, not sure it that makes sense, it was time consuming but worth it.

This was my first attempt at an exploding box and I thoroughly enjoyed  every minute of it and I know I will be making many more.

The gold and the glitter do not show up so well on the pictures but were beautiful in real life.

I think you can just about see that the white card is embossed.

Kenny K - Christmas Hottie

Hello - not had chance to post for a few days as I have been busy with a family weekend away and trying to get on top of my wrapping, We have 7 children plus their partners, plus their children, plus nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, mums, Uncle Tom Cobble and All, so it takes me for ever to shop and wrap all the presents, shopping nearly finished and wrapping started but far from finished, I will get there

Today I have a card for my nephew today using Kenny K's Christmas Hottie, I am sure he will be pleased with this.  Coloured with Promarkers.
I have coloured a few of these digi images so they will be showing up on more cards when I get chance to post them.

I did a concertina fold on the card - the paper are Bo Bunny - Father Christmas papers, and the snowflake die is a Marianne Creatables.

The christmas tree die cut I bought off eBay.

Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

I am entering this card into the Promarkers Challenge - Week 129–Mega Christmas challenge

Fizzy Moon - With Love

Hello
Today I have a Fizzy Moon card - Festive Fun with Love.  I have made this card for all quite a few of our 7 children (the ones with partners) and also my sister and David's brother and sister.  This card is the one for David's brother Pete and his wife.

Coloured with Promarkers, I have coloured so many of these I think I could do them in my sleep... lol.  All the glitter you can see is the same Stickles colour (Star Dust), I bought so many colours only to discover you only need 2 ... doh... Star Dust (silver tones), Diamond (gold tones) as the stickles take on the colour under them... wish someone had told me.

The silver tree is Memory Box - Flowering Christmas Tree such a lovely die, very delicate.  The pointsettia at the bottom right is a from silver and pink Glitter stick on sheets, stuck onto acetate and then cut out.

Again I have used my Poinsettia die and coated with Glossy Accents and the Glamour Dust.  The centre is a beautiful Moonstone brad from Wild Orchid Crafts with a silver bead end and snowflake charm both from eBay.

This is the inside

Alex and Felicity - Xmas Kiss

Good Evening,
Starting to feel colder now, after all our mild weather and talking of cold I seem to be coming down with another one, I don't normally get them but this is the second one in just over a month, think I must be a bit run down.
Anyway I digress, I have made so many cards and just need to get some really good pictures and find some challenges to enter them into.  This card I will not be entering into any challenges as I don't think my choice of papers was too good.  Still a nice card for my nephew who is 17 and his girlfriend.  The digi image from Digi Stamp Boutique is called Alex and Felicity, Xmas Kiss.  Such a lovely young trendy image for a teenage couple.

Coloured with Promarkers, with some Flower Soft for snow.  Talking of Promarkers I have decided to go down the Copic route as so much easier when looking at colouring tutorials to get the right colours, so hubbie said he would buy me one of the sets for Christmas and I thought I might treat myself to the other, but I guess I would not use all the 144 colours so the other alternative would be to just get the most popular colours.... what do you think?  This route would work out cheaper but could take me some time to write the list of colours.

This close up shows the image and one of my two snowflakes which I covered with Glossy Accents and then Glamour Dust.

Hope you like it

Poinsettia Card

Hello
I have been sooooooo busy making Christmas card and have loads to upload over the next few days.

The first of the bunch is a beautiful card for a close family friend and I know she would appreciate a more traditional card rather than the stamped images which I normally go for.  So here it is....

It is a Poinsettia card, the gold pointsettia are die cut of mirri card and the large red glitter pointsettia is the same die, but altered.  The white card is a beautiful embossed card, you can just about see it in the close up picture.

The poinsettia die is a Marianne Creatable one. I have used this a lot for my Christmas cards.

To make the large red poinsettia, I cut 3 large and 1 medium petal die plus a small circle.  I applied Glossy Accents and fine glitter to all petals, when it was dry I cut the 3 large petals into pieces and stuck them to the circle in two layers then the medium die on top.  Took a little time but worth it in the end.

Digi Stamp Boutique - Sophie with Present

Hello
I have been very busy making a lot of Christmas cards for family and also trying to photograph them... not very successfully, but getting there, so look out for many cards being posted.  I am also trying to enter them into challenges to hopefully entice people to visit my blog, to leave a comment and maybe follow me.... PLEASE, pretty please :).

So anyway onto my card this is an 8" x 8" card for our niece Sally, using a Digi Stamp Boutique image, called Sophie with Present, coloured with Promarkers and glitter with Stickles (the glitter is on the grey ribbon, doesn't show up too well on the picture but looks lovely in the flesh).

I have kept this quite minimalist as I think this is more trendy.

The white glitter poinsettia was made with a poinsettia die, I then applied Glossy Accents and then Glamour Dust, I have make a lot of these and used them for all the family cards. Unfortunately the camera does not do it justice, I was really pleased with them.

Added a lovely purple bow with a border and punched holly edges.

I used Photoshop to create the inside of the card.

Birthday Cards for the Twins

I have two lovely twin step daughters who will be 26 this weekend. Jessica loves clothes and shopping and Joanna has recently had a baby so for my cards what else but make Jess a birthday/gift card for our local shopping centre - The Trafford Centre and for Jo a cartoon drawing of her and Zara also with a gift card for the Trafford Centre then they can go shopping together.

JESSICA'S CARD

The image is a digi image coloured with Promarkers from Charmed Cards - these images are really yummy and I am sure I will use them again and again, in fact I intend to make the same card but different colours for another birthday in December.

Papers are Nitwits - Grin and Bear It, shopping bag Charm and Bead End Cap (silver flower around the Brad) are from eBay, Brad is from Orchid Crafts.

Flower is a Marianne die I have just bought, this flower was my first try and whilst ok not as good as some I made the other day just with white card and rose distress ink - they looked so good and I really pleased with the effect :).

Inside with Gift Card for a shopping spree.

JOANNA'S CARD

Second card of this post is for Joanna, my first attempt at a step card.

I saw this digi image ages ago and download it straight away as I thought it was perfect for Joanna,  she has made such a lovely yummy mummy and is so happy.  Emmy and baby Maisey from Digi Boutique.

This is the back of the card - I made a little envelope to hold the gift card as the one that came with it was too heavy for the card.

Hope you like the cards  xx

Update on my Sister

I have wonderful news that my sister operation to remove bowel cancer was successful and that they removed all the cancer and she does not need any chemo.  She is recovering well and is itching to get back to cleaning the house and do her gardening... lol.  I did try to introduce her to card making but I don't think she is cut out for the quiet pastimes.

Millie just for you

I was busy last weekend making 3 birthday cards and a New Home card - I will post these up when totally finished, as of now just the Millie card as this is for my sister-in-law's birthday and needed to be posted today.

Stamp is 'Millie Just for You' from Lili of the Valley, coloured with Promarkers, the dress didn't turn out right so I went over with polychromatic pencils which helped to even it out (I need more practice on working out what colours blend well) - paper was from Nitwits - Grin and Bear It - lovely papers :).  Flowers form Wild Orchid.  Everything else from stash.

Just noticed that the charm is the wrong way round - nevermind... lol.

I am sure Ruth will love the card.

Get Well Sister

My sister goes into hospital tomorrow to have an operation for bowel cancer, this is the card I made for her.  Unfortunatley I am not going to be around to support her as we go away tomorrow on holiday to Crete, it had been booked for ages and she didn't want me to cancel. I feel really bad, this is such a big thing for her and she is being very brave.
At least we are only going for a week and she might not even be home before we get back. Thank goodness for mobile phones.

I am really happy with the colouring, there was no bleeding this time, probably because I have changed my paper to Neenah, my step-daughter didn't realise it was coloured in, she thought it was printed, so pretty chuffed as I am only a beginner.

Anniversary Card

I have just made a card for my Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, mmm... I am not as pleased with it as I could be - I think it is the papers, this is the second time I have tried to make a card with these papers and it didn't turn out like I wanted.  Still a nice card but something missing, I think it is because the papers are 8x8.  I think I shall cut them up.

Paper were Fizzy Moon Celebrations, stamp is LOTV coloured with Promakers, flowers are from Wild Orchid, everything else is from my stash.

Below is a close up

and inside

Anyway, I need to get on with some Get Well cards, one for my sister who has a procedure next week before having her operation to remove bowel cancer and believe it or not another Get Well card for someone else with bowel cancer.  What is happening!!!

New Teacher Card

I have made a card for my son's girlfriend who has just started her first job as a teacher.  Jess loves her class already and I am sure they all love her too.

Stamp is a digi stamp which came as a set with the ABC & Teach, the sentiment was one I made in Photoshop and also the "We love our new teacher, Miss Thomas" was added in Photoshop.
I 'stickled' the card to within an inch of its life and added a little ladybird to the flowers.

This is the inside.
Hope you like it, as much as Jess did :).

Ava's Birthday

It was our Grand-daughter's 6th Birthday on 31st August - this is the card I made for her - very glitty.

At the same time I also had a New Home card for her mum.

This was digi image I downloaded and changed the wording which did say 'Home Sweet Home' to the 'Oxley Mansion' - Oxley being their surname :).

All for now - more cards to come

Hello World

I have been meaning to get around to staring a blog after seeing all the wonderful blogs that there are around and I want to showcase my cards and get some feedback.  I have only just started and just completed my 3rd card which is for my sister's 70th Birthday tomorrow, I cannot wait to give it to her.
Unfortunately she has just been diagnosed with bowel cancer and tomorrow besides her birthday she is also going for a CAT scan.  I will keep my fingers crossed that the news will not be all bad and they can operate.
This is an easel card complete with decorated box
