Marvelous Magnolia - Two stamps or more

Happy Thursday Lunchtime

Well we are nearly there now, just the food shopping to do and then cook Christmas Lunch for 11 of us, quiet year this one as normally it is around 16 to 18. It is lovely having a large family, except I have one vegetarian, two celiacs and one muslim, so I need a veggie option main meal, sausage meat and chestnut stuffing, gluten free stuffing (also used for the none pork eater and veggie), roast potates with goose fat, roast potatoes in olive oil and some halal meat and don't start me on the puddings, all worth it though.

So onto my card we have a new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia and this week our theme is two or more stamps.

I have made a card for my lovely sister-in-law Ruth and her hubbie Gareth, they are definately party people, they love going out and socialising.

Sorry to state the obvious but this is the back... LOL.

Please drop over to Marvelous Magnolia and check out the stunning creations from my team mates - there are some stunners.

Your Computer is Broke - Phone Scam

Hello
I just wanted to share this with you as hopefully it might help someone

I was phoned this morning just as I was leaving for work by a company called Ceylon Technical Support who told me they worked for Microsoft and that Microsoft were trying to send me some updates and a programme on my computer was stopping them, and he could help me by connecting to my computer and sorting out all my problems.

I work in IT, so I was the wrong person for them to speak to - I told them in no uncertain terms to go away and never phone me again.

I looked them up on the internet and apparently it is the latest scam, they remotely access your computer, which they lock down, then tell you that you have a virus or a problem which they will fix at a high cost - http://www.zdnet.com/regulators-smash-global-phone-tech-support-scam-operation-7000005195/.

It make me furious as I can see so many people would be taken in with this - I also know that many of you are having problems with your computers at the moment and trust me this is not the answer.

Never click on any link in any email, have up to date antivirus, say no to any toolbars you are offered whilst browsing (they slow down your computer) and if your computer is playing up, turn it off and restart, you would be amazed how this fixes most problems.

Another Christmas card and My Radiator

Hi everyone
This is the first post I have made in months which was not a DT card, I have so many family Christmas cards that I need to let you see some every day till New Year... LOL.

So today I would like to show you a card I made for another Step-Son and his partner. The same LOTV image that I used on Sunday - I coloured loads on mass one weekend at the caravan.

I made another of the folded cards - no idea what you call them and made a sort of scene with two new Marianne dies - the lamp post and the christmas tree, the fence I bought off ebay.

mmm... I now notice that the little name sentiment is wonky... ah never mind.

This is the reverse.

So on to the title of my post - my good blogging friend PlanetSusie showed a lovely picture of her fireplace, and I promised her a picture of my radiator, don't get me wrong we do have a fireplace in the front lounge and also a stove in our main lounge but the radiator in the hall has a special place in my heart.  I think Sue thought I was joking...

A close up - and what is that card dangling down - well it is a beautiful card from Sue - thank you so much and there was a bar of chocolate with it too... wow.

So there you go Sue - a picture of my radiator - do you like Father Christmas Teddy in the corner - I always feel that is Christmas when he comes out of his big box.

Electic Ellapu - Anything Goes

Good Morning Blogging Buddies

Well we are nearly there - I hope you are all ready or nearly ready - I just have wrapping to do and food shopping - yeah....

Today see the start of a new challenge over at Electic Ellapu and we are extending the challenge over the Christmas period and our challenge is Anything Goes - always very popular.  I had wanted to make a chocolate topiary tree after seeing another team mate do one on anothere challenge but time ran out so I have used one of my cards which has not been shown yet.

It is a teepee card for my step-son and his partner, I have used a LOTV stamp, one of last years but new to me this year - as I loved the amount of fur on the girls coat and hat that I could add Glamour Dust to.

This view shows one of the other sides.

This side use the large Marianne Christmas Tree which I have just bought, I used Diamond dust and some little gems on it - I also had to cut it down a little as it is so large - the snowflakes are Cheery Lynn which I bought when I visited LOTV last month.

This is the inside and shows how it was made with three squares scored down the middle - really easy and very effective.

Hope you like my card and please drop over the to lovely Elaine at Electic Ellapu and the wonderful designs from my other team mates.

I would like to enter my card into

Lili's Little Fairies - Something New (two dies & the stamp)

Marvelous Magnolia - Tilda with Snowman - Shadow Box Card

Happy Thursday Lunchtime,

I am super busy at the moment so apologise if I have not visited you recently - things should start to slow down after this coming weekend.

Today see's another challenge from Marvelous Magnolia and this week our theme this week is Snowflake - pretty easy one for this time of year.

I decided to make a Shadow Box card for my niece.

I used Tilda with Snowman and glittered with Glamour Dust on Tilda and Diamond Dust on Snowman.  There is also a large Marianne Christmas Tree and Tim Holtz snowflake die again with Diamond Dust - I love this stuff :).

Snowflakes are Memory Box and Marianne, this time glittered with Glamour Dust.

This view shows the top of the card - these cards are a great idea as they fold flat for postage.

Please drop over to the Marvelous Magnola blog to see the amazing creations from my team mates.

Eclectic Ellapu - Santa Paws & Snowflakes

Happy Sunday,

Today sees a new challenge over at Electic Ellapu and this week's theme is Santa Paws & Snowflakes.  I wanted to make a card for my good friend Pam - Pam loves my cocker spaniel, Rosie so what better than to make a doggy card.

The image is call 'It's only me' by Giordano and although it is not a traditional Christmas image I wanted to use it because it is so sweet.
This card has been hard to photograph - the red flowers and and ribbon have been glittered with stickles, sentiment is embossed with gold and the small snowflakes cut out of glitter card.

As you can see I made an easel card.

This is the inside.

Hope you have a great day today - it was our Christmas work's party last night so this post is scheduled - hope my head is ok as it is Christmas decoration day at our house, so I need my energy.

Please drop over the Electic Ellapu and see the amazing creations from my team mates.

Guess what I did last Saturday

Good evening,
Gosh where are the days and weeks going to, I had meant to blog about this last weekend but don't seem to have had a minute to spare.

I was lucky enough to attend the open day at LOTV last Saturday and met up with Fleur and Lou who were demonstrating, but my main reason for going was I had booked myself on Bev's Distress Ink course.  I have been looking at all the beautiful distress ink coloured images out there and wanted to know how to do it properly, to be honest I have never even tried, except when I bought the full set of Distress Ink pens when they first came out, I only had them for a day and they went straight back, in fact Bev said she bought a set too and hers went into the bin!!!

I had a great afternoon, met some lovely ladies and had a go at using distressed inks, I am so busy at the moment it is going to be over the Christmas holidays before I get another chance to play again.  Anyway I thought I would show you my first two attempts done with Bev, I guess I can only improve, but at least I have the hang of it and know what I should be doing now.

I will not be using any of these on cards... LOL, but I had fun and cannot wait until I have some time to have ago again.

I am a bit of an eBay queen and when I got home I thought I would have a look and maybe treat myself to some re-inkers as I don't have any, and I was lucky enough to notice an auction for 32 re-inkers which were only partially used and I am glad to say I won the auction and they arrived today. woohoo, so I am set up, just need some time now.

Ahh well nearly weekend, our work's do on Saturday and then we are getting the Christmas decorations down from the loft, I like to get them done early as I love decorating the house and it always takes me at least two days.

Have fun

Marvelous Magnolia - Pixie Tilda with Snowy Roof

Happy Thursday Lunch Time

Today sees a new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia and this week our theme is Non-Traditional Christmas colours - a favourite of mine, although this year I seem to have been making all red cards, so made a nice change.  I chose two of the new stamps from the Christmas collection, Snowy Roof and Pixie Tilda, seems to have been a popular combination this year.

I made an open criss cross card - Tilda and roof is coloured in copics with two memory box dies, a spellbinder poinsettia, and Tim Holtz snowflake die all covered in Glamour Dust.

This is the front of the card, a die cut Snow word which I covered with Glamour Dust.

Opens out to reveal tilda in all her glory, together with two large Marianee Christmas trees decorated with Twinklets Diamond Dust - boy does that stuff sparkle.

There is a hidden sentiment tag with a Tim Holtz snowflake die at the top.

Hope you enjoy my card and don't forget to drop over to our blog to see the other amazing creations. This week we are sponsored by the amazing

Eclectic Ellapu - Altered Sleigh Pin Cushion

Hiya Everyone

Today sees a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this week's challenge theme is Layering/Open-able/Interactive - mmmm.... I have been wanting to make a sleigh pin cushion for ages and with a bit of imagination my sleigh fits the bill... there are layers, it is interactive but not sure about the opening bit, but Elaine being the nice person she is said it would be ok.

So onto to sleigh which I throughly enjoyed making.

It is a bit of a work in progress and some of the pictures might not show all of the finished items.  I started with a paper mache sleigh which I bought last year - I painted with while acylic paint, then I started to decorated it.

As you can see I used marabou feather trim around the edges of the top, WOC and Kort and Godt flowers, rose trim and sparkly bead trim - there is a stick pin peeking out of the flowers with a dangle.

At the front is a lovely silk ribbon, snowflake charm and a little jingle bell

I then made a pin cushion with some white satin fabic and had the most fun making some stick pins.

and then another view of the pins.

I hope you like my sleigh - it will have pride of place in my craft room.

Please drop over to Eclectic Ellapu and see what my team mate have come up - the standard is just getting higher and higher each week - I am really gobsmacked at how amazing the two DT are.

Fashionista - Blue Christmas - Saturated Canary Nutcracker

Happy Monday Blogging Friends,

First I would like to say hello to my new followers, I seem to have gain a few just recently, don't be afraid to say hello I love to chat.  Also thank you to my regular followers, I always love to see your comments come into my email box.

Today sees a new challenge over at Fashionista and this month our theme is Blue Christmas and we are sponsored by the totally amazing, fabulous Kristen of Saturated Canary fame.  She very kindly gave the DT images to work with and I chose Nutcracker - what a beauty.

I decided to make a card for my niece - I used a couple of  Marianne dies namely large Christmas tree
and Poinsettia, kraft card and the paper is a digi from Barely Mine, together a beautiful bow from The Ribbon Girl.

Close up of the Poinsettia with a lovely diamonte brad with blue diamonte centre also from Ribbon Girl - it is beautiful but hard to photograph.  I cut the poinsettia out of white card, sprayed with adhesive and scattered Diamond Dust over it.

Nice card???? but the surprise comes when you untie the ribbon and open the card.

I made a box to hold 4 little Lindt teddy bears - sorry there is only 3 but I ate one... it has been replaced since the photograph - , I used an oval spellbinder die to cut the oval and covered with acetate - I decorated the oval with Pearl deco pen and the pearls were perfect :), but then I closed the card.... duh... so not quite as perfect as they were at the beginning.

Picture of the gift tag - which again is Marianne.

Hope you enjoy my chocolate card, I have made a few of these now.

Please drop over to Fashionista blog and see the amazing creations of my team mates you will not be disappointed.

Marvelous Magnolia - Pearls & Lace - Crunching Tilda

Hello Everyone

Today sees the second challenge from our new blog Marvelous Magnolia, we were blown away with the quality and number of entries - we had over 200 entries for our first challenge - how amazing is that.

For my project I have chosen Crunching Tilda and made a voltive holder for my sister and her husband.  There seems to be a lot of these candle holders around at the moment, but they are all fairly small and I wanted to make a special larger version, so modified the measurements.   It was super quick to make up as I just make my normal card box and glued it together.

The papers I think are Pion - I bought a lot of Pion and Inkido papers recently and I have cut them up so cannot see which are which - bad girl.

The voltive is really cute with a lovely heart button, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Kort and Godt

The image is so cute, I coloured her with Copics and applied glamour dust to her hat, the doily behind her is a Marianne die which I distressed with Tea Dye.  She was lovely to colour in and the gingerbread looks good enough to eat.

Close up of the lace and pearls which were from my stash.

Please drop over to Marvelous Magnolia and see the creations of my other team mates - they are AMAZING...

Eclectic Ellapu - It's a Vintage Thing

Happy Sunday Lunch Time

Looking forward to today as I am seeing my step-daughter, husband and two children today, we don't get to see them that often and I love seeing the children.

Today is a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this week our theme is Vintage.  A little out of my comfort zone with this theme, but I had seen some lovely Inkido paper Forever Santa - so I thought I would give it a go.  I also bought a sheet of Santa's Christmas which is gorgeous mini tag pictures of who else but Santa.

I hated cutting into the paper, I bought two pages and used half of both... sob, sob.  I hand cut a tag and distressed the edges, a Spellbinders pointsettia and Marianne snowflake with some of the paper. There is also a Cheery Lynn florish, WOC roses and one of my own hand made pins.

I distressed the edges of the poinsettia with a nail file (thanks Fleur for the advice), and used a WOC pearl brad in the center.

A close of up of my pin, the base of which was WOC pin plus some of my own beads and spacers.

This is the inside which I haven't quite decided what to do with yet.

This was not an easy card to photograph as the colours are quite delicate.

Please drop over to our blog and see the other DT members amazing entries, this is such a friendly DT team, everyone is so excited behind the scenes and Elaine is an amazing leader.
