Fashionista Challenge - Anniversary

Good Afternoon
My first post of the week and it is a very special post as it is the end of our first challenge over at Fashionista Challenge Blog. What a month it has been for us, a new challenge blog and we received over 160 entries, we are little different as the DT decide on our Top 5 and then we let you vote for the winner, who will always get a super prize, so definiately worth dropping over and joining in our challenge. This month it was won by Alyce who submitted a brilliant card.

We now have a DT of 10 fantastic crafters and we are sponsors by some very big names, all this in a month, we are going to go from strength to strength.

This months theme is
Wedding, Anniversary or Shower
Our Sponsor is Inky Impressions
So on to my project for this month, I have made an explosion box for my beautiful step-daughter, Jessica and her husband Elliot for their first wedding anniversary. I designed the stationery for their wedding last year so I was able to use the same coloured card and paper, also the J&E were the same as on their stationery.
First two pictures are the box closed, then the lid comes off.
To reveal pictures from the wedding and a second box.
Then the second lid comes off to reveal...

Sorry it is so picture heavy but I love this box and cannot wait to give it to them in June.
Don't forget to drop over to Fashionista and see the ABSOLUTLEY fantastic creations from my team mates.
I would like to enter my creation into the following challenges

RIP Ollie 2001 to 2012

Hello
Just a quick post to say sorry I have not been commenting on your blogs, but I have had a sad week one of my cats went for a minor procedure on Tuesday and never recovered properly from the anesthetic and I have spent the week nursing him.  He was fine when he went in and in great health but after the operation, once I brought him home his back legs went and he became incontinent, deaf and blind, sadly he was put to sleep this morning.  The vet at first thought it was a reaction to the anesthetic and would recover but now seems to think he had a brain tumour which we did not know about and the stress of the operation brought it to a head.

We have buried him in the garden and my friend brought me a plant and we bought a yellow rose bush and planted them both around where he is buried.  He was a lovely cat with not a bad bone in his body, he will be sadly missed by us and also his brother, who I guess must be wondering where he is.

Exciting News and Driving Test Card

Hello everyone
I have some excitng news to share with you, I managed to pick up a cancellation for an Advanced Colouring Class next Saturday at LOTV with Bev Rochester no less.  WOW... I am so excited, Bev is the reason I make cards, some time last year whilst surfing I came across her blog and I thought OMG these cards are amazing, I didn't realise at first that they were hand coloured images and then the layouts, flowers, lace, pearls... you know I could go on for ever they are just fantastic.  So I am hoping that you will see an improvement in my colouring and that I find out exactly what I am suppose to do with all those Primacolour pencils I bought and hardly ever use.

So on to my card, which is not hand coloured... LOL.  I made this a few weeks ago for my son's girlfriend who had just passed her test, I really enjoyed making it, such fun.

This is from Crafts U Print, I thought it would be a quick card, but by the time I had cut all the pieces out it took a few hours, but I had great fun.  I added glossy accents to the headlights and windscreen, loads of stickles and some gems on the flowers.

It even came with it's own envelope - just perfect for any girl who has just passed her test.

Hope you enjoy, back Tuesday with no less than 3 DT cards, phew...

Digital Tuesday - Winter Blues

Hello everyone
It's Tuesday so that must mean another challenge at Digital Tuesday and our theme this week is Winter Blues  - which is anything wintery or blue and this week we are sponsored by Pink Gem who have offered the lucky winner a prize of 4 digital images... WOW.

I decided to make my lovely Grandson, Leo a Christmas card, nothing like getting started early, so here is my card, using a Pink Gem imaged called Winter Philip, just perfect for Leo who will be nearly 3 then.

This is my first attempt at a criss cross card and I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  The papers are Christmas Wishes from Bearly Mine Designs.

This view shows the pull out sentiment, using a little teddy die cut, I coloured the hat to match the digi image.

I coloured the image with copics and used glossy accents and glamour dust for glitter, I had forgotten how much I love this stuff, I don't find it as opaque as stickles so not good for fairy wings but fantastic for some glitter fur on clothes or snow.

First Christmas card made, hope I can still find it when December comes around... LOL.

Don't forget to drop over the Digital Tuesday and see what my other team mates have made this week.

Anything Goes - Tick Tock Goes the Clock

Good Morning everyone,
My second post of the day... just like a bus you wait for ages then two come together... LOL.
Today is Tuesday so that much mean another challenge over at Anything Goes Challenge and this fortnight our theme is Tick Tock Goes the Clock.  WOW we had a massive 641 entries last fortnight, how amazing is that, hope we can do the same again.

This fortnight I made a lovely cheeky (cheeky being the operative word) 8" card for my lovely Brother in Law - Pete.

I found a fantastic digi paper from Stamping All Day, the image is a Kenny K, I have so many of these 'ladies' they are great for men's cards.
The clock and cogs and wheels are Tim Holtz, and I coloured the digi image with copics, all these are more can be found at The Craft Den
I sponged the gold coloured cogs at the bottom and then covered in gold embossing powder, the clock also had gold embossing power added.  The red cogs had gold wax added.  The senitment was computer generated.

Close up of Jayne Jetpack.
Well that is about it other than to say don't forget to drop over the Anything Goes Challenge to see what my other team mates have come up with, you will not be disappointed and also if possible please join in with our challenge.

Pete loved his card and we decided that we should try and find the same outfit for his wife to wear, wink, wink.

Hope you like my card, if you do leave me a message 'cos I love receiving them xxx

Digital Tuesday - Distressing

Hello Everyone
Today is Tuesday so must mean another challenge at Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog - this week our challenge is Distressing and our lovely sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps.

I chose Gus Golf to make a birthday card for my lovely Brother in Law, Gareth.

Needless to say Gareth likes golf, this is a cheeky 8" card, coloured with copics. I found some fantastic digi backing papers on Esty called Vintage Golf and I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distressed ink in Tea, - I am not really good at distressing things, but I did have a go.  The little golf balls, golf ball and tee, and 18th hole are buttons which I bought on ebay, especially for this card.

I decorated the card in some more of the papers and included the golf club which came with the buttons.

Don't forget to drop over to Digital Tuesday to see my other team mates fantastic designs and we would love you to submit a card.

Hope you enjoy my card, and if you do leave me a message, I love the attention... LOL.

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Birthdays

Good Morning Peeps,
Hope you all had a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend, I am back now from Wales, we had a lovely few days, one of our sons came down with his girlfriend to launch his boat for the season and stayed over night and cooked us a lovely meal, and on Sunday we went out with some of our 'neighbours' for a meal, so the caravan season has started again for another year.  Fortunately I made this week's card for Digital Tuesday before I left.  Please drop over to the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog to see the other fantastic designs.

Our theme this week is Birthdays and we are sponsored by Fred She Said who has given us a whopping $20 gift certificate for prize - how generous is that??

So here is my card, it is for a family friend who is in her 70s and I know she would not really appreciate cartoon type of drawings, so I instead used some lovely papers from Fred She Said and computer generated the sentiment.

Sorry about the lighting for the picture it was such a dark day and no matter what I did I could not get a decent picture.
I used my Spellbinder heart die for the circle, the flowers are Wild Orchid Craft, ribbon, butterfly charm and pearl hearts are from my stash.  Butterfly is a MS punch and the little hearts were left overs from the Spellbinder die.

I also decorated the inside to match but with a contrasting paper.

Ah well - back to work today.... :(.  Please don't forget to drop over to see my other teamies brilliant designs - and also enter the challenge if you have a suitable card - Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog

Happy Easter - Chocolate and Wine and new DT member

Hello everyone
I am in waking up today at our caravan in North Wales, we are here for a long bank holiday Easter weekend, I have brought my Copics with me and loads of images to colour. It is so cold here it is unbelievable the difference from the other weekend when we had temperatures of 20 degrees and last night it was 0 degrees with snow on the hills.

The weather forecast is pants... LOL, but what is new for Wales, the scenery in Porthmadog is stunning when the sun is out but is really miserable when it rains and that is what is forecast.

I finished my choccie bars for the boys, these bars were so quick to make up, all 23 of them, 12 pastel ones which I posted the other week and 11 brown for the boys... LOL.

Now I have the most exciting new I has been asked to be on another Design Team - for a brand new challenge blog Fashionista Challenge, I have such a good feeling about this blog, we are a brand new blog and our first challenge went live on 1st April and we already have nearly 60 entries, how fantastic is that.  It is all down to the blog owner Rina, she has so much enthusiasm, it is infectious and her work is TOTALLY amazing.

If you have some time please drop over to our blog - our theme this month is Anything Goes for Girls, an easy one, so if you have a card which would fit this theme then please enter.  We have some really super prizes up for grabs which will be posted up shortly.  Also please follow us as what is unusual is that the DT team will choose a Top 5 and then you will vote for the Top 3 - how cool is that, so you need to be a follower to see the voting post.

Anything Goes at Anything Goes

Hi everyone
Today we have a new challenge at Anything Goes and our theme this week is Anything Goes - how easy it that!!!  Please do drop over to Anything Goes and see what the other DT members have created.
I wanted to make an engagement card for a lovely young couple, so without further ado here is my card.

My card is a double gate fold card, with a belly band, I punched a border to the belly band, covered with wide ribbon and lace and then a spellbinder heart die and flowers.

The top of the card pulls out to reveal a message, and then the belly band pulls off to reveal the inside of the card.

The image is from Lili of the Valley, the sentiments are all computer generated.

The image is coloured with Copics you can get a great selection of Copics at the Craft Den together with Spellbinder dies and all your other crafting needs.

The back is also fully covered.

Hope you like my card
